தமிழகம் முழுவதும் ஜல்லிக்கட்டுக்கு ஆதரவாக போராட்டத்தில் ஈடுபட்டிருந்த மாணவர்கள் மற்றும் இளைஞர்கள் மீது போலீசார் அதிரடியாக தடியடி நடத்தி போராட்டத்தை கலைத்தனர். ஏராளமான இளைஞர்களை தரதரவென இழுத்துச்சென்றனர்.
